Miami, Florida, U.S.A — October 30, 2025 — Boris FX Continuum, the pioneering visual effects plugin collection, announces its 2026 release. The latest version of the Emmy Award-winner leverages in-house AI technology to radically transform daily post-production workflows, including masking and effects isolation, chromakeying, compositing, and editing.
“Our spring release (May 2025) introduced Continuum’s first AI-driven masking tools with easy, one-click masking and animated matte generation,” states Boris Yamnitsky, CEO and Founder of Boris FX. “Now, we’re excited to deliver new AI masking and isolation tools that give artists even more granular control with little effort. Continuum 2026 adds automatic facial segmentation and masking, instant facial detection, and a matte refinement tool to reveal fine details quickly. The additions dramatically streamline beauty work and advanced compositing tasks, giving artists hours back to focus on creating the best visual storytelling.”
“Big standouts are updates to BCC+ Frame Fixer ML and the new BCC+ Jump Cut Fixer ML. Both use similar technologies, but with different workflows. It allows me to stitch together talking head videos, removing the 'ums' and 'erms', to create much slicker presentations,” states Shane Barrell, long-time UK-based Continuum user and motion graphics designer/animator (credits: BBC, ITV, Channel4, and Sky). “I have really enjoyed pushing this further to help fix stabilized footage to regenerate frames where motion blur jumps were unavoidable, in effect rescuing source material far further than anyone expected.”
The PixelChooser, powered by Mocha tracking and built into every Continuum effect, gets a significant upgrade. Three new AI-driven masking and tracking tools give users the most advanced, time-saving options yet.
BCC+ Face ML uses AI precision to transform beauty work and complex compositing workflows. The tool automatically finds, selects, masks, and tracks facial features, including eyes, eyebrows, lips, mouth, teeth, and surrounding skin. A dropdown menu simplifies the process, allowing artists to choose which facial area to mask without needing to rotoscope manually.
A new Face Detection tool, integrated with Mocha tracking, employs AI technology to automatically detect, track, and manage individual faces throughout a shot, then easily apply Continuum effects, such as glows, blurs, mosaics, and color correction.

BCC+ Matte Refine ML allows users to easily and accurately modify an existing mask or matte. The tool utilizes AI technology to automatically produce a natural edge from a hard matte, providing fine detail with semi-transparency. Matte Refine ML minimizes time spent generating tricky matte edges (hair, feathers, and fur) by eliminating the often tedious manual back-and-forth process.
Additionally, the PixelChooser includes six new mask/matte modes that enable users to precisely define where a generated mask/matte is applied in the composite stack. The modes are Pre, Post, Both, Stacked Composite, Alpha Masked, and Alpha Composite.
The 2026 release reinvents Continuum’s powerful advanced green/blue-screen chromakeying, cleanup, and compositing tools with a new GPU-accelerated BCC+ Primatte Studio. Building on core technology and built-in Mocha tracking, Primatte Studio introduces AI-driven denoising that accurately removes unwanted camera noise while preserving vital details.
Users also have access to more compositing tools in Primatte Studio, including Light Wrap Edge and Light Wrap Spill controls, an Edge Cleaner option, integrated Color Link to quickly match the color of the keyed foreground to the background, and a streamlined custom toolbar to help users work more efficiently.
Continuum 2026 debuts its first AI-driven transitions with the addition of BCC+ Jump Cut Fixer ML and BCC+ Depth Wipe ML.
BCC+ Jump Cut Fixer ML instantly alters jarring jump cuts. The transition uses AI optical flow to dissolve between two shots seamlessly. The organic-looking result keeps viewers engaged within a story’s world.
BCC+ Depth Wipe ML uses AI-generated depth maps to flawlessly wipe from foreground to background, delivering dynamic, cinematic results. It’s ideal for creating slice-style animations that wipe through the depth over the course of the transition, and includes 15+ curated drag-and-drop presets.
Many of Continuum’s AI image restoration tools and creative effects deliver faster workflows, enhanced options, and more accurate results.
Continuum 2026 also adds 150+ new presets and updates to popular creative effects, including Scanline, Lens Blur, Color Link, Particle Illusion, Lens Flare, and Title Studio, giving artists expanded controls and improved performance.
Continuum is available as a plugin collection with subscriptions, upgrade & support plans, and perpetual licenses. Subscriptions start at $325/year or $48/month. See pricing.
