The new version delivers a new all-in-one titling tool, a 3D procedural noise generator, pixel-shifting effects and transitions, smarter AI masking with new models, a new Drive Effect mode in Pixel Chooser, a major update to Particle Illusion, faster performance in Adobe Premiere Pro, better integration with Vegas Pro, and more.

## New Creative Effects

**Titling**: **BCC Text** is a new vector-based 2D titling system with an easy-to-use custom user interface designed for speedy title generation. The titler allows editors to design continuously editable live titles without needing to jump between tools or having to leave their host application. All title animation uses familiar host-side keyframes. 

- **Full 3D Control**: Position, scale, rotate, skew, and pivot type in true 3D space.
- **Letter Transformations**: Animate characters independently to create energetic type treatments.
- **Type-On Animation**: Reveal by letter, word, or line with overshoot, decay, and fade controls.
- **Built-In Generators**: Create counters, timecode, dates, countdowns, and randomized text.
- **Custom Backdrops**: Design title treatments with fills, gradients, borders, bevels, and shadows.
- **OpenType Support**: Work with OpenType and TrueType fonts in BCC Text and Title Studio.
- **Fully Supports Complex Multi-byte Scripts**: Includes Japanese Kanji, Hiragana, and Katakana.

**Textures: BCC+ Noise Map Studio** is a **3D procedural noise generator** that combines multiple noise layers into a single composite to build rich, evolving textures. Artists can use the results as animated backgrounds, organic mattes, or custom maps to drive other effects. Textures animate and tile automatically, creating a seamless look without keyframing.

**Warps & Distortions**: Five new effects and three matching transitions let editors bend, twist, and smear footage.

- **BCC+ Time Displacement**: Displace pixels through time instead of space. Blend the current frame with moments sampled from other points in the clip, or another layer. Includes 100s of ready-to-use displacement maps and a Map Glitch option to create fractured, unpredictable looks.
- **BCC+ Curl**: Fluid, organic swirling distortions with built-in randomization. Use the integrated Beat Reactor to sync amplitude, scale, and flow speed to music.
- **BCC+ Waves, Bulge & Vector Blur**: Traveling waves flow along a vector field with lighting controls, lens-style bulges and pinches, and directional streaks.
- **3 New Transitions**: BCC+ Curl Dissolve, BCC+ Vector Blur Dissolve, and BCC+ Waves Dissolve.

**Particle Illusion**: Updates to Particle Illusion, the high-end 3D particle generator available in Continuum or as a [standalone application (Particle Illusion Pro)](https://borisfx.com/products/particle-illusion/), deliver cinematic visual impact and a faster, streamlined workflow.

- **Improved Depth of Field**: Add real dimension to particle scenes with more natural, convincing focus.
- **Tilt-Shift & Vignette Blur**: Create selective-focus looks — from subtle lens effects to dramatic miniature-style imagery.
- **Faster Everywhere**: Smoother real-time playback with new image caching, a quicker Draft mode, and an optimized High Quality mode.
- **STL Model Import**: Bring custom 3D geometry directly into particle scenes**.**
- **Enhanced Connect Particles**: Create intricate networks & geometric structures with new ways to draw and style lines between particles.

Continuum 2027 also adds **450+ curated presets** across thirteen effects; **better performance in Adobe Premiere Pro** with up to 2X faster preview and rendering, and smoother interaction; **SVG and EPS import**; and **deeper Vegas Pro integration**.

## Smarter Masking

Continuum’s powerful AI-assisted masking tools get a boost with updated models that fit masks better and speed up workflows, including blurring out faces, quick skin fixes, and creative effects isolation.

- **New Face ML Contour Mode**l: Masks follow each face's full shape (including ears), delivering more complete coverage and fewer manual fixes.
- **Matte Refine 2.1**: Improved edge analysis preserves fine detail like hair and delivers cleaner separation with less cleanup.
- **Witness Protection ML**: Precisely fitted face masks replace generic ovals, and Mocha face detection isolates individual faces in multi-person scenes.
- **Mask ML Hover Preview**: Hover to see the mask Mocha will generate before committing, saving potential trial and error.

**Pixel Chooser** introduces **Drive Effect mode,** allowing artists to control the intensity of a masked effect, not just where the mask appears. The option uses Pixel Chooser’s mattes to ramp up effect intensity smoothly across mattes. Treatments blend naturally into shots, with no hard edges or visible masking and compositing.

Drive Effect is available in 18 filters, including BCC+ Lens Blur, BCC+ Face ML, BCC+ Motion Blur ML, BCC+ Depth of Field, and BCC+ Time Displacement. Users can also pair Drive Mode with AI-generated mattes from Face ML or Depth Map ML to create graduated, subject-aware effects in a few clicks.

Additionally, **BCC+ Mocha** allows users to bring an alternate background into tracking workflows to accurately position and track foreground elements like screen inserts.
