Boston, Massachusetts, U.S.A — April 11, 2024 — NAB attendees in Las Vegas, Nevada (April 14-17) will receive the first in-person demos of significant updates to the Boris FX Suite from award-winning developer Boris FX. The powerful cross-host and cross-platform solution features eight high-end video editing, visual effects, audio, and photography plugins and applications — Continuum, CrumplePop, Mocha Pro, Optics, Particle Illusion Pro, Sapphire, Silhouette, and SynthEyes.
The Boris FX Suite supports popular host applications, including Adobe After Effects and Premiere Pro, Avid, and OFX hosts Autodesk, Blackmagic Design, Foundry, and VEGAS Pro.
“We can’t wait to show NAB attendees what we’ve been working on in the AI/ML technology realm with the addition of internally developed tools within the Boris FX Suite. Users will find new AI tools in Continuum, CrumplePop, and Silhouette, with more coming soon,” says Boris Yamnitsky, President and Founder of Boris FX. “These new tools mark the beginning of our company-wide initiative to incorporate AI-driven effects that will prove most useful to editors and artists.”
Continuum's extensive content creation collection includes two robust image restoration effects. DeNoise ML eliminates noise and artifacts in one click, while UpRes ML instantly upscales footage while maintaining fine details. Particle Illusion, the fast 3D particle generator within Continuum, adds the ability to use Stability AI to create custom sprites based on thousands of presets. Attendees at NAB will receive an exclusive technology preview of a fourth AI/ML effect designed for documentaries, newscasts, and unscripted projects.
Silhouette adds three features to its Academy Award-winning rotoscoping and paint tools. The Stability node allows artists to use integrated Stable Diffusion models together with inpaint and outpaint or generate images from scratch using text prompts. The Denoiser ML node employs sophisticated deep-learning techniques to eliminate unwanted noise from images while preserving critical features. The UpRes ML node is trained on thousands of images to provide highly accurate resizing results. NAB attendees will see a sneak peek of two new ML-based effects.
CrumplePop’s easy-to-use audio restoration and cleanup plugins deliver crisper, more accurate results than ever before with next-gen AI models trained on its popular noise, traffic, wind, rustle, and clipping removal tools. (CrumplePop was added to the Boris FX Suite in October 2023.)
Mocha Pro gives artists a simple and speedy 3D workflow to tackle seamless matchmove compositing, animations, and motion graphics creation. The updated Camera Module is driven by sister product SynthEyes’ 3D tracking algorithms while also delivering the flexibility of Mocha Pro’s planar tracking tools, including PowerMesh warp tracking. Mocha Pro also adds USD (Universal Scene Description) imports/exports.
SynthEyes offers professional matchmove artists complete control over 3D tracking and solving within a lightning-fast, feature-rich standalone application. The latest release adds an After Effects plugin that directly supports all SynthEyes lens models, animation distortion, and off-center lenses within the host application. (SynthEyes was added to the Boris FX Suite in October 2023.)
Sapphire’s Emmy Award-winning visual effects plugin adds a modern digital glitch/data mosh effect, a cinematic dust effect, revamped time effects, 10 new lens flares, and more.
Continuum adds a new audio visualizer effect with fifty motion graphics presets that make it easy to bring music to stunning life, true 3D particle lines and inherited velocity in Particle Illusion, and over one hundred fifty presets.
Optics, Boris FX’s Photoshop and Lightroom plugin, delivers new capabilities to its built-in Particle Illusion with masking tools to isolate the visibility of particles on stills or cinemagraphs. It also adds eight fresh creative effects and over one hundred presets based on beauty retouching, digital damage, glows, lens flares, light leaks, and more.
Attendees can book group or one-on-one demos in the Boris FX Meeting Room (SL9034) or visit product team members in partner booths on the Exhibit Hall floor.
