Vegas Pro Delivers Professional Color Management and Faster Renders

Miami, Florida, U.S.A. — October 22, 2026 —  Boris FX Vegas Pro, the all-in-one video editing platform, removes technical obstacles from everyday post-production tasks with its new release. Vegas Pro 2027 supports mixed camera formats (including Log and HDR) in a single color-managed workspace, drastically reduces render times, automates captions and file naming, and exports high-res audio. New tools that expand creative options include easy AI-driven tracking and masking directly in project timelines, an enhanced compositing workflow for VFX, and greater control over titling and text.

Boris FX Vegas Pro is available in three versions — Vegas Pro, Vegas Pro Plus, and Vegas Pro Ultimate. Each tier builds on the core editing platform with supplementary visual effects plugins and professional audio software. The 2027 release introduces significant new tools across the lineup and a new perpetual license option for Vegas Pro Ultimate.

Better Color Management: An updated internal color management pipeline expands native engine support for a wide range of professional color ranges, including Log and HDR. Vegas Pro 2027 reads each source on import, automatically detects and interprets source color spaces, brings them into a unified color-managed timeline, and converts them on the fly during playback. The color space conversions run on the GPU, delivering more accurate color handling without compromising timeline and playback performance. Users retain full manual control over color primaries, transfer characteristics, and color range if metadata is missing or needs overriding.

Modernized Media Properties: A redesigned dialog lets users view and adjust critical media information with expanded color-space information and settings, clearer metadata, and technical data. Users can copy information with one click and paste it directly into an email, a shot list, or a project doc.

Improved GPU Encoding: Vegas Pro 2027 speeds up rendering and delivery times on NVIDIA, AMD, and Intel systems. Under the hood, DirectX textures send data to the encoder, freeing the CPU during exports and improving GPU utilization.

GPU-Accelerated Hardware Encoding: New hardware-accelerated 4:2:2 encoding for AVC and HEVC supports NVIDIA Blackwell GPUs and Intel Panther Lake platforms. The update delivers higher color precision for broadcast, grading, and delivery workflows, and reduces reliance on external encoding tools.

High-Resolution Audio Export: Audio export updates preserve the full quality of the Vegas audio engine to give viewers the best sound experience. Users can export 24-bit PCM and AAC audio in MP4 and MOV containers, along with AVC/H.264 and HEVC/H.265 video, with sample rates up to 192 kHz and up to 32 audio channels.

AI Quick Mask: Automatically mask people and objects using the same AI-assisted technology (Mask ML and Matte Assist ML) as award-winning Boris FX sister products. AI Quick Mask significantly reduces the effort required on complex masking tasks and speeds up everyday VFX and compositing workflows. It offers high-speed mask propagation, more stable masks during motion, and is 20x faster (on average) than Smart Mask 2.0.

Offline GPU-Accelerated Speech-To-Text: The Whisper-based Speech-To-Text engine is updated with GPU acceleration, delivering faster AI transcriptions of long recordings, shorter subtitle workflows, and improved performance on larger projects. The fully offline workflow keeps data private and secure. Speech-To-Text is available with Vegas Pro subscriptions.

Online Text-to-Speech with ElevenLabs: Customers with an ElevenLabs account can generate AI narration using ElevenLabs’ large library of high-quality voices while staying in their project timeline. ElevenLabs Text-To-Speech is available with Vegas Pro subscriptions. (Note: Vegas Pro 2027 does not include any ElevenLabs usage credits. Users must have a separate ElevenLabs account.)

Composite FX on Video Events: Composite FX enables advanced blending, keying, and transitions at the Video Event level. The new workflow streamlines creating OFX effects that require two image inputs. Compatible OFX plugins, including Boris FX Continuum with BCC+Primatte Studio, can use a secondary image input directly on a single Video Event.

Acid Pro: The original loop-based music production software is bundled with Vegas Pro Plus & Vegas Pro Ultimate. Acid Pro features nearly 1,000 loops, one-shots, and songs from multiple genres (drums, guitars, synths, vocals, and sound effects), 1100+ editable MIDI parts, 90+ instrument patches, and a loop library with 800+ foundational loops and sounds.

Sound Forge Plus: Sound Forge gives creators a user-friendly environment to tackle detailed audio work and integrates seamlessly with Vegas Pro. The standalone audio production tool is available with Vegas Pro Ultimate and also includes Celemony Melodyne 5 Essential, Vandal, VariVerb II, and 3D Reverb plugins.

Vegas Pro 2027 also adds native Nikon ZR R3D support; dynamic render filenames, build one template in the Render dialog and every export names itself; and enhanced Vegas Titles & Text with character-based foreground and background color, right-to-left text support, expanded Unicode and multilingual support, and auto subtitles; updated Final Cut XML; and ARM platform support coming soon.
