Our collective goal is to create the tools and effects that help you work at your best.
In this spirit, we met 2024 with a commitment to expand the scope of AI power within the Boris FX Suite. We added over 10 new features that leverage internally developed AI technology to enhance—not replace—your creative process.
The year wasn’t all about AI, of course. We also added new must-have effects like Sapphire’s VHS Damage, tons of transitions and presets, tools like Mocha Pro’s 3D tracking powered by SynthEyes, and small but mighty improvements that seriously level up your workflow experiences.
Products & Releases
We shipped 13 new versions of our products in 12 months(!) If you were lucky enough to have a Boris FX Suite subscription, you had FREE access to every single update.
Automate Daily Tasks
Continuum 2025’s Motion Blur: Driven by AI
Continuum now includes 6 AI tools (4 new in 2024). Realistic composites demand realistic motion blur. Use BCC+Motion Blur ML to get it done fast. If you work in unscripted TV, newscasts, or documentaries, tackle the often tedious process of tracking and hiding unwanted faces and license plates in minutes with BCC+ Witness Protection ML and BCC+ License Plate Detection ML. You can also produce smooth, artifact-free time warps on action and sports sequences with ease, thanks to BCC+Retimer ML.
Mocha Pro introduced its first AI tools with the 2025 release. Speed up your tracking, object removal, and 3D camera solves with new Object Brush and Matte Assist tools. This workflow is perfect for generating lightning-fast garbage masks and tracking mattes. Watch this beginner tutorial to get started.
Silhouette now features 5 AI tools (4 new in 2024). Roto artists, save yourself hours of time on garbage masks and temp comps using Matte Assist and the Mask Node. You’ll have precise animated mattes in seconds, and make sure to use our next-gen AI Optical Flow tracker to drive roto splines. If you need to change the speed of your shot or sequence, our Retime Node takes the pain out of time warps.
CrumplePop 2025, known for its entirely AI-powered audio cleanup and restoration toolkit, added a new Voice Enhance AI plugin. You'll want to check it out if you’re an editor or content creator who handles audio on projects. It’s a one-click solution that transforms audio into studio quality. Use it on Zoom and cell phone recordings, laptop mic mishaps, and unwanted background noise.
Did you know? Our AI tools are developed internally using ethically trained models. The tools are processed locally on your machine (no cloud processing), keeping your privacy and intellectual property safe and delivering faster speeds.
Customer Love
We love nothing more than cozying up to watch projects our customers have worked on. After all, there would be no us without you! Go behind the scenes with artists from Framestore who were Oscar-nominated for their work on Guardian of the Galaxy, Vol 3. The team at Scanline tackles 3 Body Problem (yes, episode 5, “Judgement Day” is discussed). Image Engine masters rotoscope & paint elements on Avatar: The Last Airbender. And because this year had TWO Emmy Awards, dive into the VFX of Fallout (2024), and Shadow and Bone (2023), and the VFX editing of Andor (2023).
Finally, if you love editing, our Art of the Cut series with host Steve Hullfish offered a masterclass. Hear from editors on top films, documentaries, and series, including Oppenheimer (Academy Award winner for Best Film Editing), the Emmy-winning team of Shogun, current ACE Award nominees for their work on Dune: Part Two, Emilia Perez, Jim Henson Idea Man, Wicked, The Wild Robot, and so many more.
That’s a wrap on 2024. Thank you for continuing to choose our products. Cheers to the new year!
P.S. Be on the lookout for a revamped Optics early next year!
